Minogue Offers The Only Way Out Of A Pending Disaster.
If you have been a resident of Massachusetts for any length of time, it should not be a surprise to inform you, that you live in one of the most dysfunctional states in the nation. The Commonwealth has lived under the yoke of uni-party dominance for over 50 years. A dominance characterized by economic ignorance, ideological fanaticism and just plain old government corruption. There is only one man, who can save us from our rapid descent into political, economic and social chaos. That man is Mike Minogue.
Massachusetts is a state characterized by an aging population with a low birth rate. Between 2020 and 2025, 180K of our native born young men and women left the state to build their futures elsewhere, because of a lack of opportunity here. Of greater concern: an equal number of immigrants, many undocumented, entered the Commonwealth in that same period, begging the question, what was the collective tradeoff in economic skills and the capacity to contribute to state’s net wealth, because of this transfer ?
Massachusetts economic development is perennially dormant, unless of course you are part of the Boston-Cambridge “Innovation Hub”. State policies have deliberately constricted economic development to a limited number of industries. Consequently, the Commonwealth ranks pretty much dead last in job growth, cost of living, cost of doing business and new business development.
State economic policy has actually been outright hostile toward new business. State investment in infrastructure is anemic. Energy costs are the highest in the nation, due to an ideological obsession with electrical power. Anyone who wants to start a business is economically punished. State government imposes significant burdens on employers, forcing them to offer paid family leave and earned sick time, while imposing punitive penalties for payroll errors, no matter the size or scale of the industry or the reason for the mistakes. New Industries are also subject to radical and restrictive energy policies.
However, it is in health care where the combination of economic ignorance and ideological fanaticism have combined to create a potential disaster. The uni-party has long been obsessed with instituting government sponsored health insurance. Massachusetts has been the laboratory for this experiment. From 1995 to 2025 membership in state sponsored health insurance skyrocketed from 670K to 2.43M. Today, one out every four persons is on state sponsored health insurance. This has resulted in a major cost shift. Because state insurance does not reimburse at the same rate as private health insurance, the medical industry charges private insurers higher rates to compensate for the shortfalls. This drives private sector premiums higher. As private insurers eventually lose subscribers, more people migrate to government programs rendering the public system unsustainable. Recent Trump administration reforms now limit federal reimbursements, potentially driving state health care cost up by 3.5B, particularly if the state tries to self-fund, health care for undocumented individuals, which Washington will no longer reimburse.
Another consequence has been the steady loss of primary care physicians. The state has the highest number of physicians in the nation, none of whom want to touch primary care. 93% of insurance reimbursement go to hospital based care, not to primary care. This threatens to make visits to primary care physicians a thing of the past.
At the core of our state’s dysfunction is of course corrupt government; corruption, defined as, the diversion of state resources from that which benefits the general welfare to special interests. The Massachusetts state budget has now swelled to 62B a year. The MBTA is reporting an 887B deficit. Beacon Hill holds the distinction of having one of the largest budgets and the most extensive bureaucracies in the nation. When payments on bonds and spending by state authorities are added, actual spending rises to 89B per year. More and more people are being added to the state payroll. The state work force is now at 46K growing at the rate of 11% per year. The bulk of our state funds goes into the pockets of state employees, state beneficiaries and state contractors, all of whom keep the uni-party in power.
So why should you vote for Mike Minogue ? To start, he is an honest man with a record that exemplifies integrity and achievement. He is a West Point graduate, a distinguished military leader and veteran, a husband and father of five great kids and the successful head of a multi-billion dollar enterprise, that grew largely under his stewardship. Minogue believes the starting point for reform is accountability. He supports the state audit, which the legislature has tried to kill. He will demand strict accountability from state agencies and departments, which as governor, he would have authority over. This alone could save millions in wasted revenue. He also understands that the business environment must change. New business must be attracted to Massachusetts, not just for jobs, but to stabilize the state’s health care system. He will end emissions mandates and encourage natural gas and nuclear power, which will lower energy costs. Mike has pledged to support the Federal government in its efforts to uphold our immigration laws. Lastly, he will make the return of more state aid to the towns a priority.
Remember, the uni-party that controls Massachusetts and is currently leading it to perdition, has a strong hold on our election process. Brian Shortsleeve is Beacon Hill’s man in the Republican Primary. If you support the policies and direction of Mike Minogue you must vote for him in the September 1st Republican Primary. Give Massachusetts one last chance!
