Kris Las Tenders Resignation To Take New Position in Shrewsbury
Kris Las, Westford’s Town Manager has tendered her resignation to the Select Board effective September 30, 2026. Las has served as Westford’s Town Manager for just over three years replacing Jodi Ross. Las opted to take a position as the Deputy Town Manager in the town of Shrewsbury MA. During her service in Westford, Las showed herself to be a dedicated and very conscientious town leader. She demonstrated incredible patience in dealing with some very contentious town issues. Her temperament was even and accommodating.
She leaves at a time when fiscal storm clouds are gathering over Westford, stemming from a structural deficit, which is unfortunately rooted in the constitutional alignment between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and town over revenue sharing. While tax receipts in Westford are relatively healthy, the capacity to expand revenue is extremely limited. Couple this with residents, who are very demanding with regards to the expansion services, and it is safe to assume that both factors probably combined to create a very frustrating experience for someone trying to manage the town. IZON wishes to thank Kris Las for her service, and we wish her well in her future endeavors.
