The Westford Republican Town Committee will be registering voters on the Town Common on Saturday, May 16th from 9 am to 12 pm, concurrent with the Apple Blossom Parade. Voter registration is open to all US Citizens, residents of Westford and those aged 18, on or before the next election. If you have moved within town, you are required to provide a change of address in writing. All forms will be available at the booth.
Voter registration is a public service offered to Westford residents by the WRTC, in honor of the Voting Rights Act signed into law 50 years ago by President, Lyndon B. Johnson. The Act outlawed the discriminatory voting practices adopted in many southern states including poll taxes, literacy tests, and other bureaucratic restrictions to deny the right to vote.
